So you've decided to put your house on the market and go it solo. In the real estate industry, you’re known as a FSBO (pronounced fiz-bo), or For Sale By Owner. Generally speaking, home owners decide to list and sell on their own usually to save paying a realtor commission.  In part one of this series, I am going to show you how to sell your house without a Realtor® in Riverview.

Obviously, I am a Realtor® and what I’m about to share with you will come off as “whaaat!” You see, I believe that life works within a well functioning system. To receive, one has to give. So, here I am spilling the beans and giving you the information you’ll need on how to sell your house without a Realtor®.

Now that we’ve got motive out of the way, let’s get started on the real reason you are here - How To Sell Your House Without A Realtor® in Riverview series.  Here we go…

Declutter & Deep Clean

First and foremost, please, for the sake of all that is dear and holy, get your house clean and tidy. Get rid of anything and everything you don’t need. Consider holding a yard sale, donating to goodwill or selling on eBay or Amazon.

You’ll want to create a welcoming atmosphere and make it easy for potential buyers to see themselves living there.

Remember, buying a home is a big financial decision, but it’s also a huge emotional decision.

The main areas you’ll want to check are:

  • Closets
  • Pantries
  • Laundry
  • Cabinets
  • Garage

Next, conduct a deep clean of these areas:

  • Kitchen
  • Kitchen Cabinets
  • Kitchen Pantry
  • Bathrooms
  • Bedrooms
  • Walk In Closets

In addition, repair and maintenance work is also essential. This includes:

  • Painting Walls
  • Repairing Broken Fixtures
  • Replacing Burnt Bulbs
  • Cleaning windows and blinds, appliances, sinks, toilets and floors

Curb Appeal

First impressions are important, so how is your curb appeal? Curb appeal not only includes landscaping, it also includes windows, roof and gutter system, driveways and anything that may be seen upon driving up to your property.

Make sure that all of this is in tip-top shape and visually appealing. I’m sure your landscape company may be able to help with some of those items.
