2. Amenities

Valencia Lakes in Wimauma, FL, offers a luxurious and active lifestyle, highlighted by its expansive 40,000 square foot clubhouse and a wealth of outdoor amenities.

Before getting in to that, I want to highlight something very important to many of the residents here.

- 24/7 Security

24 Hour Guard-Gated Entry

Most certainly, the feeling of security is paramount. There are multiple entrances to the community. Homeowners have designated entrances, while guests have only one entrance.

Advanced Security Measures

As part of the 24/7 security, guests must submit their ID to the on-duty officer and/or insert their ID into the gate security system. Moreover, the person they're visiting must call in the guest's name to the security office in order to pass.

- The Clubhouse

Once guests pass security, they're immediately amazed at the grandeur of the community. At first glance, they're greeted with a water fountain gushing 15-20 feet into the air (possibly higher).

Oh, don't be surprised if you notice people kayaking in the lake either!

Now, at the center of it all is a 40,000 square foot (or so) clubhouse. Actually, the word clubhouse is a bit of an understatement.

It's more like a hotel lobby...seriously.

Check out this clubhouse video tour by GL.

Let's break down all that the clubhouse has to offer, starting with the lobby and the clubhouse itself.

Making your way to the entrance of the clubhouse, you'll pass by lush landscaping, queen palms and golf carts!

The clubhouse includes these amenities:

24/7 gym access

You have no excuse not to get in or stay in shape here. There's a good mixture of cardiovascular machines and weightlifting equipment.

Several Studios

There's certainly no shortage of activities when classes for yoga, pilates and dancing are given. Also, there are rooms to practice and hone your new hobby and crafts.

Plus, there's over 100 acres of beautiful preserve.

You may also take advantage of the 3 mile trail and take a walk, jog or ride your bike.

What do residents think of living at Valencia Lakes?

Below is a crowdsourced list of reviews that I picked from various sites, including Google and

I have NO regrets in moving to Valencia Lakes. Beautiful homes and amazing community! The neighbors are very friendly and are very involved in life. We met many new friends that we truly enjoy interacting with on a regular basis.
Our community is in a transition period as we have a fairly new board and I remain very confident that they will continue to work hard to maintain our grounds/facilities to the pristine levels that we are accustomed to. Wonderful place to live!

Great active adult community. Entrance and main lake are beautiful. Upscale homes and the location to the beach and Tampa is ideal. Recommend!

What does FL law say about 55+ community requirements?

According to Florida law, in order for communities to be designated as 55+ communities, the housing units have to be used and occupied by people who are at least 55 years old.

In addition, these following requirements have to be met:

  • At least 80% of the occupied units are occupied by at least one person 55 years of age or older.
  • The facility or community publishes and adheres to policies and procedures that demonstrate its intent to in fact be a provider of housing for older persons.
  • The facility or community complies with rules established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for verification of occupancy.
