Why Live at Valencia Lakes in Wimauma?
You'll only want to move to Valencia Lakes if you're looking to get away from the rat race, settle down, relax and enjoy life...really!
Let's break down the reasons why I think Valencia Lakes makes a great 55+ community -
1. 24/7 Security
Most certainly, the feeling of security is paramount. There are multiple entrances to the community. Homeowners have designated entrances, while guests have only one entrance.
As part of the 24/7 security, guests must submit their ID to the on-duty officer. Moreover, the person they're visiting must call in the guest's name to the security office in order to pass.
2. The Clubhouse
Once guests pass security, they're immediately amazed at the grandeur of the community. At first glance, they're greeted with a water fountain gushing 15-20 feet into the air (possibly higher).
Oh, don't be surprised if you notice people kayaking in the lake either!
Now, at the center of it all is a 40,000 square foot (or so) clubhouse. Actually, the word clubhouse is a bit of an understatement. It's more like a hotel lobby...seriously. Check out this video by GL Homes.
Let's break down all that the clubhouse has to offer, starting with the lobby and the clubhouse itself.
Making your way to the entrance of the clubhouse, you'll pass by lush landscaping, queen palms and golf carts!
The clubhouse includes these different amenities:
State of the art 24/7 gym access
You have no excuse not to get in or stay in shape here. There's a good mixture of cardiovascular machines and weightlifting equipment.
There's certainly no shortage of activities when classes for yoga, pilates and dancing are given.
Also, there are rooms to practice and hone your new hobby and crafts.
Hosting an event? Throwing a birthday bash? What about delighting in watching a theatrical performance? All can be done here.
Pool and cabana
The pool and cabana is your personal getaway. There are three pool areas to soak your worries away in, get fit and have fun.
- One is a general pool with beach entry. There's also an area to play water volleyball.
- Resistance pool
- Lap pool area
- There's also a spa at the back end of the pool area
I don't know about you, but I never heard of pickle-ball before visiting this community. Be truthful, have you?
Well, we did say that this is an active adult community, right? Check out what's available:
- 6 tennis courts
- 4 pickle ball courts
- Bocce ball and shuffle ball...ok, I never heard of this before either 🙂
- Baseball field
- Horseshoe pits
4. Nature preserve
As I mentioned earlier, the moment you enter the community, you're in awe and astonishment when you gaze over the glistening of the lakes in the sun...over 40 of them!
Plus, there's over 100 acres of beautiful preserve.
You may also take advantage of the 3 mile trail and take a walk, jog or ride your bike.
5. Pet park
Man's best friend deserves some time outdoors too.
6. Boat and RV Storage
For those who own an RV or a boat, there is a storage facility within the community to take care of that for you.
There are well over 80 clubs to join and stay busy. Honestly, after looking at the information book with the different club names, it felt like Amazon...as in, A to Z.
There are clubs for pretty much anything you can think of, like:
- 8 Ball Billiards League
- African and Latino Heritage Club
- Chess Club
- Fishing Club
- Garden Club
- Military Veterans Club
- New Jersey Club
- New York Club
- Nurses Social Club
- Ukulele Jam Group
- Woodcarver's Club
What do residents think of living at Valencia Lakes?
Below is a crowdsourced list of reviews that I picked from various sites, including Google and Neighborhoods.com
I have NO regrets in moving to Valencia Lakes. Beautiful homes and amazing community! The neighbors are very friendly and are very involved in life. We met many new friends that we truly enjoy interacting with on a regular basis.
Our community is in a transition period as we have a fairly new board and I remain very confident that they will continue to work hard to maintain our grounds/facilities to the pristine levels that we are accustomed to. Wonderful place to live!
Love our home. Great neighborhood. Cool amenities, we use the gym and pool weekly. 55 + is the way to go. Like being on vacation every day.
Fabulous clubhouse with a variety of events for everyone. Gated community. Great fitness center. Numerous clubs. Most of all...friendly and helpful residents. Nearby theaters, sport events, museums and ongoing community activities.
Great active adult community. Entrance and main lake are beautiful. Upscale homes and the location to the beach and Tampa is ideal. Recommend!
